We believe that we can improve health outcomes by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of their local health services.About your opportunity:In this position you will support the Director Internal Audit in facilitating the maintenance and development of a strong internal control environment through reviews of prioritised risk areas and key activities, including evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, systems of internal control and governance arrangements.About your role:

• Plan and conduct audits, investigations and reviews across Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
• Prepare high quality written reports and present audit outcomes to clients, management and other stakeholders including presenting at various committees.
• Undertake follow up and reporting of management actions in relation to recommendations raised by audit including external providers such as Queensland Audit Office (QAO).
• Undertake other assurance activities as directed by the Director Internal Audit and Risk.
