As the key architect of impactful information products, you’ll transform raw data into actionable intelligence that drives decision-making at Te Aho o Te Kahu. Your expertise in ontology-based analytics using SNOMED CT will be put to the test as you extract and analyse cancer-related datasets, delivering valuable insights through engaging publications and interactive R Shiny Apps.Collaborating with stakeholders in the cancer sector, you’ll tailor information products to meet evolving needs and contribute to service improvements. With an arsenal of statistical tools and methodologies, you’ll develop a deep understanding of Te Aho o Te Kahu’s datasets and assist clients in interpreting complex information. Your attention to detail and strong project management skills will ensure timely and accurate publication of high-priority Tier 1 Statistics. Forge connections across Te Aho o Te Kahu, the Ministry of Health, and the broader health sector, fostering collaborative relationships that amplify the impact of your work.By delivering evidence-based publications, you’ll champion our priorities and contribute to the continual enhancement of our processes and systems.   • A tertiary qualification in a health-related or relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as SQL, R, or Python, with a strong preference for experience in R or R Shiny.
  • Knowledge of SNOMED CT is advantageous, though formal training will be provided.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret, work with, and present numerical data effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and document user requirements, bridge communication between technical and non-technical audiences, and tailor data analysis and presentations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Prior experience with national health collections and familiarity with health data systems is desirable.
  • Excellent project planning and time management skills, including the ability to accurately estimate time requirements and deliver on both long- and short-term deadlines.
  • An understanding of Māori tikanga and kawa and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
