Job description: JOB DESCRIPTION:Position: Senior Import OfficerReporting to: Senior Manager Import and ExportDivision: Established Pharmaceutical Division – OperationLocation: Karachi -Landhi PlantJob Summary:Responsible for end-to-end post shipment Customs Clearance Process, handling of Clearing Agents, Customs Duty demand, Bank Acceptance, shipping companies, freight forwarders and Release of shipping Documents from Banks for all Divisions of Abbott Pakistan.Major Responsibilities:

• Update Import Material Log with current customs tariff with relevant HS code for true valuation at Goods Declaration.
• Follow-up with Local CFS function for timely issuance of pay order to minimize any detention & demurrage cause due to delay in issuance of pay order.
• Keep check on detention and demurrage charges to be avoided as much as possible by ensuring timely issuance of all shipping documents along with pay orders to respective clearing agent.
• Prepare pay order request template and forward it to accounts after getting the initial signature.
• Follow-up with finance for early disbursement of pay order requests. Inform CA to collect pay-orders from bank
• Inform all stake holders of any changes in Customs SRO/ CGO as per current finance budget.
• Prepare endorsement set of documents and follow-up with bank for the endorsement of AWB.
• Prepare letter for DO collection and Container security deposit letters.
• Follow-up with CA for the consignment under clearance and ensure its early clearance to avoid any production/sale loss/unnecessary demurrages charge.
• Prepare monthly Sales Tax Statement of import and export for submission to finance.
• Prepare statement of outstanding container security deposit and submission of received back pay orders from shipping company to finance.
• The incumbent will be responsible to maintain all necessary records pertaining to his own area of responsibility as per record retention policy & practice.

Education/Knowledge & Experience:

• Graduate; preferably in MBA in Supply chain
• 02 to 03 years or Plus experience in the same capacity
• Proficient in MS Office
• Flexible and capable of performing well in high-stress situations
