Job description: Job Description Summary Senior FRA Specialist Inventory Accounting & Novartis Product Margin Reporting will be responsible for multiple aspects of the accounting and reporting of inventory balances, which includes month-end closings, reporting, reconciliations, financial controls, while collaborating closely with business partners from country and above-country FRA teams, Supply Chain and country BPAs. Furthermore, responsibilities embrace high quality reporting & reconciliation of Novartis product margin reporting (NPMR).Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:

  • Manage month end closing process by performing account reconciliations and ensuring all balance sheet and income statement inventory accounts are correctly represented.
  • Manage monthly inventory reserve process, including booking auto trade reserve program and manual journal entries.
  • Manage the monthly slow mover / no mover provision process, while complying with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM) requirements.
  • Manage & analyze product revaluation & devaluation impacting inventory reserves.
  • Manage the Novartis Product Margin Reporting (NPMR) process, including cost, bill of material (BoM), income statement and inventory download, analysis and upload.
  • Drive operational excellence with full alignment with all Novartis business, compliance and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders, which encompasses cross-functional collaboration with country and above-country FRA teams, Supply Chain and BPAs but not limited to internal & external accounting authorities/auditors, while ensuring appropriate communication with these stakeholders when questions regarding inventory accounting & NPMR matters arise.
  • Provide financial accounting services and data in a timely and accurate manner, which requires appropriate information is provided to relevant individuals and external bodies.
  • Ensure the effective application of Novartis related control procedures (SOX/NFCM) within scope of responsibility.

Key Requirements:

  • The applicant must have at least 5 years of experience in the finance field.
  • The job requires working effectively in a multi-national matrix organization, and the ability to build productive business partnerships.
  • Applicants should have knowledge of IFRS, accounting and financial reporting requirements, SAP, and experience in working with MS application e.g. Excel.
  • The candidate should possess an undergraduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance, with a preference for an advanced degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • Professional level of English both written and spoken
