Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of low earth orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.To support this launch, the EMEA Accounting team is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst, to support local statutory compliance and US GAAP reporting for our team in Cork.Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
– Preparation of high quality financial statements across a range of accounting frameworks;
– Responsible for month end close activities including reviews, balance sheet reconciliations and analytics.
– Preparation of statutory trial balances including identification and posting of local GAAP adjustments;
– Supporting external audit process;
– Demonstrating strong technical accounting acumen to be able to conclude on accounting treatment for complex business related transactions;
– Business partnering with other Amazon teams, including Treasury, Tax, Public Relations, Transfer Pricing and Corporate Legal;
– Collaborating with global Accounting teams to identify opportunities for enhanced standardization
– Being a strong team player, who can operate globally, cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization, taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative.A day in the lifeAbout the teamBASIC QUALIFICATIONS– Experience with accounting and financial reporting, preferably gained within a Big Four firm and / or a multinational organization
– Certified accountant qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
– Proficient Microsoft Excel userPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS– Knowledge of IFRS or other accounting frameworks;
– Solid organizational skills along with an aptitude for information technology
– Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – Experience managing multiple projects with competing schedules
– Excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to leadership
