Context:The Senior Financial Accounting & Tax Specialist is responsible for assisting in financial accounting and tax-related operations. This includes preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, handling tax calculations and filings, and collaborating with internal and external auditors. Additionally, this role supports tax planning and compliance efforts to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities. The Senior Officer will take ownership of key tasks such as Group Consolidation reporting (SAP FC), tax management, interim reporting, and balance sheet analysis. Missions/Main Duties:

  • Assist in the migration to the new cloud-based ERP system.
  • Ensure smooth transition and proper integration of the system into the existing processes.
  • Perform monthly and annual closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Review and verify financial transactions, ensuring adherence to internal controls and accuracy.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Conduct in-depth balance sheet analysis for Dubai and the region. Identify discrepancies, report findings, and collaborate with teams to address issues.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns for VAT and other statutory tax filings in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international tax laws.
  • Assist in preparing Corporate Income Tax returns in collaboration with external tax consultants.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy of regional reporting, preparing detailed reports as required by management.
  • Work closely with tax consultants and legal teams to address tax-related issues.
  • Assist in the timely preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with transfer pricing rules in collaboration with the Group Tax team.

Profile/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior accounting role with strong expertise in financial reporting, accounting principles, and tax compliance.
  • Solid understanding of tax compliance, financial reporting, and ERP systems. Experience in a large professional services company or similar environment is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of local and international tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and local accounting standards.
  • Experience with IFS or similar ERP platforms is desirable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Full-time position based in Dubai, UAE.
  • Occasional travel may be required to other regional offices or project sites.
