Job description: Senior Financial Accountant – Junior Teal LeadLocation: Yatala, QLD
Salary: $100k – $110kOverview:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role involves supporting the financial activities of the company. You will lead a small finance team and provide hands-on delivery of high-quality, accurate, and timely financial results.Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the CFO and Financial Controller to prepare monthly, annual, and financial reports for the CEO.
• Manage timely and accurate month-end close processes.
• Oversee cash management, cash flow, inventory, and asset management.
• Review general ledger transactions, reconciliations, and ensure data integrity.
• Lead and support the Australian Finance Team, including:

• Accountant
• Accounting Assistant (AP)
• Payroll/Accounts Receivable Officer
• Support, back up, and oversee weekly payroll processing.
• Complete monthly tax and legislative reporting (e.g., BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax).
• Prepare and support external audit requirements.
• Assist with business planning and policy development in collaboration with the Financial Controller.
• Establish, monitor, and enforce policies, procedures, and compliance with legislative requirements.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team to drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial accounting role.
• Strong experience with large ERP systems.
• Proficiency in payroll and payroll systems.
• Excellent understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

Desirable:

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred
