  • Providing analysis and advice to clients across the department in relation to strategic and operational funding issues.
  • Having a leading role in the management accounting process including coordination and development of the corporate budget.
  • Develop, implement and maintain budget policies, procedures and practices which facilitate and support financial management within the department.
  • Contribute to the delivery of robust, high quality financial performance reporting for the department by undertaking key activities and providing advice in the development and maintenance of the department’s corporate budget.
  • Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials on budget development, financial policy and management issues.
  • Identify departmental financial management training needs and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and training programs to meet these needs.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated:

  • Working knowledge & understanding of financial accounting and budget principles.
  • Proven issue identification, problem solving, analytical and research skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills, proven ability to maintain positive and effective client and team relationships, including the ability to interact effectively and provide advice.
  • High level computer skills including experience in the use of spread sheets, word processing packages and computerised financial management systems, in particular SAP.
  • Ability to manage workloads and meet tight deadlines whilst operating independently with flexibility in line with the broader objectives of team and division.
