Job description: To lead and manage the organization’s financial reporting function in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial statements, while providing technical accounting support and insight to key stakeholders.About the Opportunity
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
- Monitor and implement changes in IFRS and assess their impact on the company’s financial reporting, providing clear guidance and updates to management.
- Develop and maintain the Group’s IFRS accounting policies, ensuring consistency across subsidiaries and business units.
- Provide technical accounting advice and support to business units on complex transactions such as business combinations, financial instruments, impairments, and lease accounting.
- Manage the year-end audit process, acting as the key liaison with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit.
- Coordinate financial reporting timelines and deliverables, ensuring all financial submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines.
- Partner with internal teams including tax, treasury, legal, and operations to provide accounting insights on strategic initiatives.
- Support financial planning and analysis teams by providing technical accounting input on forecasts, budgets, and financial models.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in reporting processes, systems, and internal controls over financial reporting.
- Provide training and mentorship to finance teams on IFRS developments and best practices.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, ACCA, CPA).
- Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or senior specialist role.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and practical application in a corporate environment.
- Prior experience in a Big 4 audit firm or multinational corporation is highly desirable.
- Experience managing external audits and financial consolidation processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) is a plus.
- Strong technical accounting expertise with a proactive approach to IFRS developments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
