Maintain a Broadview of emerging technologies. Interfacing with other departments within the organization, namely Planning, Billing, RTCS, RA, FMS and Marketing w.r.t. VAS related issues.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIESKey AccountabilitiesKey ActivitiesFunctional

  • First line fault management of the SMSC and other VAS elements to maximize network availability and quality.
  • Undertake all preventive and corrective maintenance routines.
  • Ensure all configuration changes are implemented efficiently and timely.
  • Performance analysis of statistics and ensuring the necessary/corrective action is taken.
  • Preparation of daily / monthly reports as per schedule.
  • Ensures accuracy and validity of all information being reported.

· Providing higher Level of Fault management expertise/support to maximize network availability and quality.· Strong ability to trace and diagnose VAS platform and service faults.

  • Work as part of a team and provide 24×7 support when required.

· Take Troubleshooting actions based on the Health Check report of VAS system.

  • Provision of ideas, concepts and strategy development w.r.t VAS.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plans for all aspects of system disaster planning and recovery.
  • Review, report and respond to any changes in the Network that will impact on the VAS systems.
  • Participate in cross functional meetings with key stakeholders involved in the development and deployment of new Value-Added Services in order to define best solutions for new products and services
  • Ensure all configuration changes are implemented efficiently and timely
  • When required, schedule network downtime with minimum effect on the subscribers.

· Assist with the development and implementation of processes, procedures and working methods.

  • Implement effective escalation procedures.
  • Provides regular updates to management on status, problems and capacity.
  • Ensures accuracy and validity of all information being reported.
  • Liaises with other divisions within the company to assure smooth flow of information.
  • Making of network diagrams, user guides, service user friendly descriptions and assisting in all text descriptions done for the user interfaces.
  • Define user requirements and support functional user testing, making of user guides and product descriptions
  • Delivery of System support teams target and initiatives
  • Ensure that agreed SLA’s are met with respect to service availability.
  • Ensure that the infrastructure is provisioned on time for new projects.
  • Incidents to be resolved as per the agreed SLA’s.
  • Manage call out during out of office hours to handle emergencies in the systems.

  • Working experience of VAS and Content technology platforms i.e. SMSC, SMS-Anti-Spam, USSD, MMSC & CBS
  • Must have Telecommunication Knowledge:

– Protocols: SS7/ Sigtran, Diameter, SMPP3.3/3.4– End-to-End call flows of SMS, MMS, USSD & CBS– SMS home routing and charging call flows

  • Good understanding of GSM Networks 2G, 3G, 4G & 5G
  • OS: Linux & Windows
  • Experience in cross departmental projects involving integration, testing and service migrations
  • Must have good Planning and Organizational skills
  • Proactive and take own Initiative to resolve problems/challenges
  • Must have a desire for detail with accurate diagnostic skills
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Highly dedicated and self-motivated.

Education /Certifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Telecom/Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification.

ExperienceA minimum of 5 years of experience managing VAS systems including Anti-Spam & Should have at least 7 years of experience in Telecom
