– To identify and analyze legal issues related to business activities and propose solutions, under minimal or almost no guidance from senior legal team members.
– To support the management of statutory requirements of a locally incorporated company and branch company, collaborating with relevant departments to ensure compliance.
– To assist the Division GM in upholding corporate governance and compliance policies by supporting the implementation of these policies within the company, while learning about industry standards.
-To assist in providing basic training sessions and disseminate information for employees to improve compliance and integrity literacy, working closely with HR and other departments.
– To collaborate with the legal team in the Headquarter Office (Tokyo) and Regional Headquarter Office (Singapore), ensuring legal standards are met, and applying theoretical knowledge to practical tasks.
– To assist in keeping management updated on legislative or regulatory changes, contributing to research and reports on new legal developments as they relate to business operations.Requirements– Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Law.
– Minimum 2 PQE in corporate legal work at a law firm or similar industry.
– Strong contract drafting skills.
– Solutions-driven and commercially minded.
– Familiarity with contracts related to various trading businesses.
– Proficient in spoken and written English
– Malaysian Bar qualified, though not necessary
– Working experience in export/offshore/import is preferable
– Reliable, able to multitask and work independently
– Ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively
