We provide expert advice on how technology can be leveraged to support Police’s strategies and turn concepts into reality through collaborative development.The Senior Database Administrator is a key member of the Networks & Infrastructure Platforms – Infrastructure Data team. They are responsible for managing the day to day technical andfunctional direction of database systems, delivering second and third level support to business owners and end users, to ensure data integrity, reliability, and performance at optimal efficiency.Opportunities like this do not come along often. We are seeking a proven database administrator who will make a real difference in shaping the future of our mission critical infrastructure. You will join our platforms group and work across our wider networks and infrastructure team to unlock our technology ambitions in the database space.We seek someone with strong experience in Microsoft Database Systems at the engineering level, who has worked with and supported enterprise-wide databases. You will bring strong technical capability to lead our modernisation efforts bringing new ideas to our ways of working and take pride in growing the capability of people around you.The technologies that you will provide to your customers in your roleProficiency with Microsoft Database Systems as a Senior Database Administrator.Having experience in DB2 and Oracle systems would be advantageous but not critical.Ability to build and migrate complex Database Systems on the Police NetworkBuild and migrate Database on Cloud Infrastructure Public/Private (Azure & AWS)Building and testing of Disaster Recovery systemsUsing SQL Server components such as Reporting Services (SSRS), Integration Services (SSIS), etcSQL scriptingExperience with Spotlight for monitoring and tuning.The Database team are responsible infrastructure database platforms that support many critical Police applications. If you are someone who has proven ability to participate in the evaluation, design, implementation, maintenance, support and enhancement of sophisticated database systems and technologies, then this position will be of interest to you. You will be able to manage all levels of database security and integrity, transaction activity and utilization.This role has an on-call requirement as our databases are supported 24×7. This means that you would be rostered with the other database administrators and would be on call for a week approximately every 6 weeks.Key Accountabilities:
