Job description: Are you an experienced Senior Data Analytics Specialist/Scientist with hands-on expertise in designing and delivering advanced BI and data engineering solutions using Microsoft Azure services, Power BI, and modern data warehouse platforms. This hybrid role will play a key part in supporting strategic data initiatives across critical program areas through the development of robust data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics products.Our client is seeking for a Senior Data Analytical Specialist/Scientist for this contract of 6 months based in Toronto 📍, with on-site attendance required as per the hiring manager’s direction, generally following a hybrid work model. This is a contract role for an initial term of 50 working days, with a possible one-time extension.Advantages

  • Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines, ETLs/ELTs, and data warehouse/lakehouse solutions
  • Lead business requirement analysis and stakeholder consultations
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and visualizations to deliver actionable insights
  • Analyze data trends, patterns, and anomalies to drive business intelligence
  • Document data dictionaries, workflows, and reporting standards
  • Facilitate demos, training, and knowledge transfer sessions for users
  • Support UAT, test plans, documentation, and validation activities
  • Align analytics solutions with evolving project objectives and IT standards
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data engineering and analytics best practices
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Conduct continuous reviews and enhancements to BI solutions

Qualifications
Must Have:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer/ETL Developer building BI products
  • Proficiency in Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, and Azure Data Lake/Delta Lake
  • Strong Power BI development skills for dashboards and self-serve reporting
  • Knowledge of data mining techniques: clustering, regression, classification, etc.
  • Advanced SQL querying and data modeling experience
  • Experience with data integration across diverse formats and sources
  • Proven ability to interpret data and present actionable insights
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or SAS for data analysis (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, etc.)
