As a member of the Group Underwriting team, reporting to the AVP, Underwriting Innovation, the Group Underwriting Communications and Change Management Consultant is primarily responsible for managing internal communication and training initiatives and for supporting the change management strategy for the transformation program.This area of work is highly fluid and evolving quickly. This is challenging work, full of opportunity and ready for new ideas. The incumbent will be involved in a variety of areas including team & key stakeholder communications, communications plan development & execution, design & layout, social media and multi-channel marketing, data analysis, training, reporting, and research. They’ll be working in an agile team with various partners and stakeholders to deliver innovative digital solutions to our business.This is a fixed term role for 12 months that offers partial benefits and 4 weeks vacation.What you’ll be doingWork with internal partners, as well as program stakeholders, to create and execute a dynamic multimedia communication program that will help achieve the Objectives and Key Results for the transformation.Help create a compelling executive story for the transformation program.Leverage data to build the messaging around the transformation progress.Collaborate with the program Hub and Squads to launch new initiatives and create reference material for target business users.Identify training needs, plan, develop and deliver training content to educate the target business users on new initiatives and the impacts on their day-to-day work.Develop content and record training videos to serve as ongoing learning tools for Underwriting and Business Development teamsMaintain reference materials related to previously launched initiatives, and act as a subject matter expert resource to staff, committees, and other teamsWork closely with UX designer to write UX content for Underwriting’s digital applicationExplore and create rich media to bolster our communication – images, short video, GIFs, interactive media, and more.Engage, collaborate, and build trusted relationships with employees across the GB organization.Apply and grow your creativity and transformational skills.Work on special projects as required.What do you need to succeed?Excellent business writing and editing skills are essential.Training delivery experienceExperience within group benefits and group underwriting is preferred.Experience working in Agile / Scrum methodologies for enterprise delivery or interest in learning.Proven project management skills – able to manage competing priorities, with multiple stakeholders and tight timelines.Knowledge of both traditional, social & digital communications channels.A curiosity for new technologies and their potential business use-cases.Able to write in a professional style that is persuasive/effective, informative, grammatically correct, and direct (plain language).Ability to simplify complex concept to communicate to a diverse audience with varying degrees of concept experience.An avid learner who is resourceful, and who seeks to understand.Creative, customer focused, and results oriented.Confident influencing skills with demonstrated ability to be effectively persuasive.Strategic thinker – used to focusing on the big pictureSelf-motivated – can work with minimal input or directionFrench would be an asset, but not mandatoryAs this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwideWhat’s in it for you?We are proud to be on the 2024 Best Workplaces in Canada list by Great Place to Work.We’re also listed as one of the Best Workplaces for Women and Best Workplaces with Most Trusted Executive Teams.In 2024, Sun Life ranked among the top 100 most sustainable global corporations by Corporate Knights for the 15th consecutive year, leading Canadian insurers.A caring, supportive, and inclusive cultureFlexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your familyTime off giving you the flexibility to focus on the moments that matter.Care Days available for self-care or care of others (i.e., family or others you may support) and Sick Days to support your well-being.The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
