Job description: Our client is an established Tier 1 contractor with extensive operations in Ireland, UK, and Europe. Due to a full order book across all regions, our client is now looking for an experienced and strategic Commercial Manager for a Data Centre project. As Commercial Manager you will be overseeing budgets, managing contracts, optimising procurement, and ensuring financial performance aligns with project objectives and deep expertise in construction commercial management, particularly within the data centre industry.Key Responsibilities & Requirements:Work closely with the Regional Commercial Director in overseeing the commercial management of data centre construction projects, ensuring alignment with financial targets, budgets, and timelines.Manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reporting, providing accurate and timely financial insights to stakeholders.Lead contract negotiations and administration, including drafting, reviewing, and executing contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to define and manage procurement strategies that align with project goals and cost-saving measures.Identify and manage project risks, working proactively to resolve contractual, commercial, and cost-related issues.Conduct regular financial reviews and cost analyses to optimise budget control, manage variations, and ensure adherence to financial constraints.Lead value engineering efforts to identify and implement cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards and project specifications.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and alignment of commercial objectives.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.12+ years of experience in a commercial management role within construction/engineering, preferably in Data Centre projects.In-depth understanding of construction contracts, risk management, and financial planning principles.Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and cost control.Proven negotiation skills and ability to manage complex contract negotiations and conflict resolution.Proficiency in commercial management software and financial tools and project management software.Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.The ideal candidate must be eligible to work in Ireland with no visa restrictions.
