NZEC does this by providing financial services and guarantees complementary to the private sector.Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the RoleWe have a rare opportunity for an ambitious Senior Business Originator to help build market awareness of NZEC’s products and benefits, as well as identifying opportunities for NZEC to support exporters. Daily tasks will also involve:

  • Building market awareness of NZEC’s products and benefits
  • Originating and structure deals that support NZ exporter growth and NZEC’s revenue targets
  • Developing strong stakeholder relationships at senior levels across exporters, banks, government and international agencies
  • Regular attendance of industry events to help raise NZEC’s profile

This role will also involve strategic input into NZEC’s product and portfolio development.Ō pūmanawa | About YouWe are seeking a well-rounded candidate with the following skills / experience:

  • Extensive client-facing experience (at least 5 years experience in a similar position) preferably with experience within a bank or trade credit insurer, or a relevant international business background;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to gain understanding through listening, and to communicate technical concepts clearly and succinctly;
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders at senior levels;
  • Deal execution skills – someone who is able to quickly grasp the commercial aspects of the transaction, and identify workable solutions to support the funding and/or risk mitigation of exporters;
  • Strong credit, analytical and financial skills (including ability to interpret financial statements);
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, often under strict deadline pressures;
  • Existing relationships with or a demonstrable interest in engaging with Maori businesses
  • Demonstrated high levels of integrity, sound judgement and an honest and ethical approach;
  • Interest in ensuring NZEC’s marketing materials, case studies, social media and website are up to date and relevant; and
  • The ability to meet the criteria required to hold an appropriate security clearance.
