• Are you a highly organised and motivated Disaster Recovery (DR) and Service Continuity specialist or have a Service Delivery background.
• Ability to plan, implement, and test Disaster Recovery plans for the MBIE ICT Infrastructure and all applications including the exercising, testing, review and maintenance of plans.
• Work in MBIE’s mix of cloud and ‘on premise’ application services with a focus on transitioning ‘on-premises’ services to a cloud environment, underpinned by cellular, wide-area and international networks.
• Permanent role based in Wellington CBD (preferred) other locations considered! This role has a salary range of $115,585 – $138,028 + wellness benefits and KiwiSaver

Tēnei tūranga – About the Role:The Technology Operations Incident Response Team is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, focused individual to join this collaborative small team. It is a pivotal period right now with a major cloud migration project underway. As such we have the opportunity to make the shift from traditional ‘on premise’ DR operations to adopting a modern native cloud based approach to DR. Reporting to the Head of Response, and working with the Principal Advisor – IT Service Continuity, the Senior Business Analyst Disaster Recovery will be someone who can own the delivery and oversight of cloud-based disaster recovery operations, much like a Service Delivery Manager. The role also has the additional responsibilities:

• Maintaining business resilience by ensuring existing Disaster Recovery Plans are regularly reviewed, risk assessed and up to date based on new enhancements or major change.
• Performing risk analysis to architectural system designs to identify single points of failure and to provide advice on availability of technology solutions.
• Engaging and partnering with other teams such as the Business Continuity, Technology Operations, Architecture and Cyber Security teams to ensure Disaster Recovery solutions and services are right sized to the needs of MBIE.
• Working closely with other key Digital Operations teams and vendors, the successful candidate will ensure a high-quality service is provided to ensure the continued resilience of MBIE technology systems.
• This role will work closely with the Principal Advisor Service Continuity, who is responsible for the planning, implementation and testing of IT Business Continuity plans across the whole MBIE ICT environment.
• This position will support the development of disaster recovery policy and disaster recovery response plans, including the exercising, testing, review and maintenance of these plans, risk analysis, staff training and the management of backup arrangements.

• Experience and knowledge of enterprise-wide service continuity and disaster recovery operations.
• Knowledge of the Service Continuity standards such as ISO 22301 and COBIT Service Continuity Management Practices.
• Proven ability to effectively document service continuity operations and disaster recovery procedures and plans.
• Knowledge and experience of service continuity cloud technologies.
• Experience in the development and presentation of disaster recovery advice and recommendations to senior management.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or extensive comparable experience.
• Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
