Job description: On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst – Data Analytics to join our Client’s team on a 12-month contract basis. This role is Hybrid (3 days onsite per week), and the Client is based in Vancouver, BC.Summary of the RoleThe Senior Business Analyst – Data Analytics will play a key role in defining data strategies, optimizing processes, and integrating systems to enhance data-driven decision-making. This role requires expertise in data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics, with a focus on improving data flows and system interoperability. The successful candidate will work closely with both business and technical teams to deliver scalable data solutions.Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis efforts for the Flow Management System, ensuring seamless integration with data warehousing and analytics platforms.
• Gather, analyze, and document complex business and technical requirements related to data flows, reporting, and predictive analytics.
• Develop detailed data mapping, process flows, and system integration documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria in Agile environments.
• Conduct deep-dive data analysis using SQL and data visualization tools to identify operational improvement opportunities.
• Support system integration and data migration efforts, ensuring smooth transitions between legacy and cloud-based solutions.
• Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical teams to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies, security best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist stakeholders in adopting new workflows and leveraging data-driven insights for business optimization.

Core Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on data analytics, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
• Expertise in data modeling, data governance, and data pipeline documentation.
• Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlik), and data flow mapping.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms and cloud-based solutions such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, including JIRA, Confluence, and backlog management.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with API integrations, system interoperability, and data security best practices.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modeling for data-driven decision-making.
• Strong project management skills, including experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Certifications such as CBAP, CSM, CSPO, or DAMA-CDMP are an asset.
• Experience working in a public sector or enterprise environment.

TermsThis is a 12-month contract role with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 3 days onsite per week in Vancouver, BC.
