Job description: He angitūtanga: The opportunityWe’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst to help shape and define complex, enterprise-level technology initiatives at Auckland Council.As a key member of our Technology Services function, you’ll provide the foundational building blocks that enable the delivery of effective technical solutions. Your analysis will underpin the success of large-scale, often cross-functional programmes – ensuring business needs are clearly defined, well understood, and embedded into the solution from the outset.In this role, you’ll work alongside Technology Services delivery teams, vendors, product owners and stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document business requirements. You’ll apply your strong analytical and facilitation skills to simplify complexity, enable clear decisions, and ensure robust alignment between the business and technology.He kōrero mōu: About youTo succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Atleast 8 years’ of experience in business analysis, including 5+ years mentoring or managing other business analysts
• Demonstrated ability to lead analysis on complex, multi-stakeholder projects or programmes
• Confidence working with technical delivery teams, architects, testers, and external vendors
• Strong experience in requirements elicitation, process design, gap analysis, and traceability
• The ability to translate complex business needs into actionable requirements and user stories
• A pragmatic, collaborative approach with strong documentation and communication skills
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments
