Job description: Duties Description Duties include, but are not limited to:Invoices

  • Daily payment of agency bills
  • Track timely payments
  • Follow up with vendors, other agencies, and peers to ensure payment is made

Financial Securities

  • Maintain premium data from insurance companies
  • Bill active insurance companies quarterly
  • Follow up on outstanding debts

Checking Accounts/Petty Cash

  • Keep accurate records of DMV petty cash
  • Maintain District Office specie accounts

Travel and Expense Reports

  • Become familiar with NYS Travel Rules
  • Review and Approve all Agency expense reports
  • Act as a liaison between control agencies and DMV employees to navigate travel inquiries.

Projects and Analyses

  • Attend meetings on assigned projects to represent Fiscal
  • Provide any needed financial/spending data
  • Track and maintain historical spending records

Communication

  • Report to Fiscal’s chain of supervisors and managers with feedback spending, and any analysis
  • Work with managers and employees from other areas within the agency

To fulfill these duties, the analyst will need to use Excel and Access, and send written correspondence via letters in Word and through Outlook, and will need to use Statewide Financial System for data entry and for reporting.Minimum Qualifications To be eligible for the Senior Budgeting Analyst, G-18 or Budgeting Analyst Trainee 1/2, G-NS position you must meet one of the following conditions as detailed below:NY HELPS*:
For Senior Budgeting Analyst, G-18: A bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience in budget estimation, justification, and expenditure control functions.
Substitution**: A Juris Doctor, master’s or higher degree in a related field can substitute for one year of specialized experience.For Budgeting Analyst Trainee 2, G-NS: A bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience in budget estimation, justification, and expenditure control functions.

One year of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55b/c service allocated to a G-11 or higher eligible for transfer and deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; OR in a title approved for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.Reinstatement:
