Agency DescriptionThe City of Philadelphia Law Department acts as general counsel for the entire City government structure. We provide legal advice to all City officials, employees, departments, agencies, boards, and commissions concerning any matters related to the exercise of their official powers.The Law Department’s civil practice includes unique issues involving public interest in business, health, safety, commerce, civil rights, taxation, and community development. Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe City of Philadelphia Law Department seeks an experienced attorney for the Compliance and Legislation Group’s Compliance Unit. This is an intermediate to advanced, non-litigation position that involves providing counsel a variety of City Departments, agencies and elected officials. We are seeking a candidate with at least 9 years of experience, good academic credentials, strong communication, analytical, research and writing skills, and and/or public policy experience.Essential FunctionsResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
