Job description: Create impact as a Senior Analyst- Storm risk, Governance & BudgetsYour RoleAs a Senior Analyst for Storm risk, Governance & Budgets you will provide advisory services of the Storm Model product and communicate with stakeholders on work slate and model insights. You’ll assist with modelling governance controls and standards. You are part of the operation and innovation of the natural peril budgeting process.The key responsibilities of this role will be:
- Contribute to the program management and stakeholder advisory of the Storm Model product that is used for peril pricing, reinsurance modelling and major event response.
- Collaborate with data, statistical modelling and weather risk teams to improve the quality and sophistication of the model.
- Contribute to the team’s governance processes such as modelling standards, model monitoring and risk controls.
- Participate in natural peril budget allocation process.
- Assist with the innovation and development of future natural peril budget allocation process.
This is a permanent role open to candidates anywhere in Australia.About YouThe successful candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience in natural perils analysis, modelling and have understanding in integrating such information into business processes and operations
- Experience and knowledge of mathematical and statistical analyses in finance setting
- Ability to communicate complex, quantitative analysis in a clear, precise and actionable manner
- Highly organised, with high attention to detail
- Experience in statistical software packages
- Experience in database management tools
- Experience in geospatial software packages (QGIS, ArcGIS or Mapinfo)
- Experience in catastrophe modelling
- Experience in working in cross-function/team projects
