The Turnaround and Restructuring team guides companies and their stakeholders through periods of uncertainty and stress, helping to solve the most complex and critical challenges. We are focused on creating and recovering value whether that is through liquidity, financing or capital structure solutionsThe team also has a growing debt advisory offering and also works closely to support Deloitte’s Transactions team on a wide range of mandates.We are seeking to expand with the recruitment of highly talented and motivated individuals with relevant experience to help grow our team. We are looking for individuals with a background in turnaround, financial restructuring corporate finance or audit, with an interest in helping businesses in stressed or distressed situations. The team is growing and there is a genuine opportunity to get exposure to a large portfolio of projects and provide a fresh perspective, as well as grow your knowledge and experience.Job DescriptionYour typical day will include:Your role within this growing, high-performance and fast-paced team is to advise clients in stressed and distressed situations to support their turnaround strategy. You will work on a wide range of turnaround engagements including advising borrowers on liquidity management, business plans, performance improvement, lender negotiations and optimising capital structures. It will also include working alongside our debt advisory specialists on raising, refinancing and restructuring debt facilities.

  • Managing a range of advisory projects with regular interaction with clients, banks, lawyers, advisors and other service lines within Deloitte;
  • Managing the day-to-day management of liquidity, financing and capital structure processes;
  • Supporting partners and senior practitioners with managing a variety of stakeholders with varied objectives;
  • Supporting management teams in preparing and critiquing business plans, short term cash flow forecasts and restructuring plans
  • Analysing financial and operational performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Developing, analysing and presenting restructuring and debt financing options
  • Supporting the execution of preferred options, e.g. turnarounds, recapitalisations, disposals and other exit options, and refinancings
  • Understanding and actively supporting the Firm’s risk from take-on through to completion of engagements
  • Supporting marketing and business development activities;
  • Working effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

QualificationsEnough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:

  • A relevant University qualification in accounting, finance, economics and a relevant professional accounting or corporate finance qualification (CA or CFA).
  • Three years+ experience within an audit, business advisory, transactions or banking role.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and commercial acumen with a proven ability in interpreting and analysing key business drivers;
  • Familiarity with building and reviewing financial forecast models.
  • An ability to problem-solve by thinking critically about issues facing clients, identifying options and devising solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Strong communication skills, including report writing and an ability to build client and internal relationships
  • Project management skills including responsibility for delivering to project timetables and balancing competing priorities,
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior team members and support the wider transactions team on client engagements.
