As stewards of community assets, we aim to manage them effectively for the benefit of current and future generations.We are a small team of five that guides and directs the management of councils $14b of assets. Working closely with the service units, you will support good asset management practice lifting the overall maturity of asset management across council.About the role | Ko te mahi neiThis key position plays a crucial role in supporting Asset Management projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the Council. As a Senior Advisor, you will:

  • Engage with business units across Council and be dedicated to championing asset management excellence
  • Ensure Asset Management projects align with Council priorities and legislative requirements
  • Assist in the revision of Council’s asset management system (policy, strategy, standard operating procedures, and frameworks), contributing to maturity assessments and related improvement programmes
  • Support the development of Long-Term and Annual Plans

About you | Ko Koe TēneiOur ideal applicant will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in Asset management planning
  • At least five years’ experience in a similar environment
  • A sound understanding of formal guidelines such as NAMS, IPWEA International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ideally, experience using asset management systems, including but not limited to SAP, GIS, RAMM, BIM, SCADA and Infonet
  • The ability to work both collaboratively and independently, with a focus on meeting timeframes and objectives
  • The ability to build rapport quickly and foster strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to establish visions and targets
