Job description: He angitūtanga: The opportunityWe have an exciting new opportunity to drive the development of 21 local board plans, the community visions that help set Auckland Council’s spending priorities. This is your chance to hone your strategic and political nous as a Senior Advisor Plans and Programmes in the Governance and Engagement Department.This fixed-term role will work with Auckland’s local boards to provide senior-level project management and strategic advice on the broad array of issues impacting local communities to initiate, develop and manage a coordinated approach to deliver the local board plans. These strategic plans guide funding and investment decisions for the next three years and set the direction for each local area by reflecting community priorities and preferences.A key aspect of the role will include project leadership and strategic advice to colleagues across the organisation.Click to access the position descriptionHe kōrero mōu: About youWorking in this environment, you need to have excellent relationship management skills and be politically astute, exercise sound judgement and demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical evaluation skills. You’ll need a tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience).Local or central government sector experience is strongly preferred, but you could also be working in a similar role in a banking, consultancy, or legal environment with a demonstrated ability to give policy and strategic advice.
