Job description: About the Client
Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for all financial, accounting, and analytical support as they embark on the next chapter of growth. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will lead the overall finance and financial planning and analysis with responsibility and oversight for all financial reporting, budget and forecasting and financial planning needs, treasury management, and act as the primary interface for all, tax and audit stakeholders.About the Opportunity
- Oversight and review of the month-end close process, including accuracy of journal entries
- Improve the month-end close process to ensure all key account reconciliations are performed and improving the timeliness of financial reporting
- Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements and analysis of variances against budget/forecast to help with key business decisions. Ensuring Financial Statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP
- Preparation of ad-hoc reports and developing consistent reports for management and improving key metric reporting
- Responsible for banking activity, including development of cash projections, oversight of daily activity and developing solutions for more effective processing of transactions
- Development and documentation of key accounting controls
- Oversight of the Accounts Payable process including review of coding and approval of key invoices and review of disbursements
- Journal entry preparation/review related to Payroll and benefits, and capital assets and related account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with tax reporting including Sales & Use and Payroll tax filing
- Other duties or projects assigned
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
- At least five years’ progressive experience in accounting/finance
- Experience managing a team
- Proficient in Excel and other MS Products
- Solid knowledge of GAAP and Tax compliance
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and energize staff
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Solution oriented especially in finding efficiencies in processes and maximizing software capability
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strives for continuous process improvements and to grow skills in both systems and financial reporting
