Job description: About the Client
Our client is a privately held Canadian investment management firm. They are looking for a Senior Accountant who will assist with reporting, month end, and full cycle duties.About the Opportunity

• Maintain and reconcile financial records for clients, including investment portfolios, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Oversee the general ledger, including recording complex transactions, reconciling cash and positions for funds, and reviewing journal entries for accuracy and completeness
• Prepare financial statements and investor reports, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for stakeholders
• Lead the preparation and filing of regulatory reports ensuring adherence to industry standards and compliance requirements
• Lead coordinator of annual audits, liaising with external auditors, preparing required documentation, and addressing audit inquiries efficiently
• Develop and oversee internal controls and financial reporting processes, identifying and implementing process improvements
• Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, providing insights and recommendations on financial performance, risk management, and operational efficiencies

About You

• Strong accounting background – FS prep, month end close, full cycle accounting
• CPA or equivalent designation is an asset but not required
• Industry: Financial service experience is an asset but not required
• System Experience: Sage Accpac, Salesforce, SAP Concur, SS&C Global Wealth Platform are assets but not required
• Communication: French fluency is an asset but not required
