The roles, responsibilities and duties of a Security Officer can be performed in many different sectors and varying roles. This Position Description outlines the general duties in line with specific role types and acts as a guide rather than a comprehensive list of tasks.We are offering a sign-on bonus/incentive of $2,000 for new employees who join with a Baseline Clearance and upgrade to NV1 during their employment. The bonus will be paid as follows:
- $500 upon commencement
- $500 after 6 months
- $1,000 after 12 months (provided the NV1 clearance is obtained)
About the roleThe position is primarily responsible for providing a security presence whilst remaining alert and focused. You will be part of an enthusiastic, committed and customer focused team. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all our customers, and you will also build strong relationships with your internal stakeholders.In this role you will:
- Conduct guard patrols across the premises and be responsible for security site unlock and lock-ups
- Escort staff and personnel on site
- Monitor CCTV footage and actioning breach situations appropriately
- Direct roving security officers to respond to alarms and take appropriate action
- Using appropriate methods of communication (e.g. radio, phone, log books) to report incidents and issues
- Maintaining logs and records of occurrences, completing necessary paperwork, and using computer terminal to input and retrieve data
Skills & Experience
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Current South Australian Security License
- Current South Australian Driver’s License
- Certificate II in Security Operations or higher
- NV1 Clearance or willing to obtain. MSS will facilitate and support candidates through this process
- Hold Australian Citizenship
- Ability to work in high pressure environments
- Ability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster
- Must be over 18 years
