Job description: Job Title: SCADA EngineerJob DescriptionOur client is an engineering consulting firm with offices in Calgary and Regina that provides design and engineering services to the electric power delivery industry. Our expertise includes all aspects of Transmission, Substation, and Distribution systems for voltages ranging from 4160V to 500kV. We are currently seeking an Intermediate SCADA Technologist or Engineer to join our team in Calgary to support the SCADA design and commissioning team. We offer a dynamic work environment with a highly experienced technical team, where you will receive guidance and hands-on training, and be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.Responsibilities

• Create bill of materials, cable schedules, point assignments, RTU/control center points mapping, and device configurations.
• Field SCADA commissioning for RTUs, HMIs, remote I/O, network switches, and other SCADA devices.
• Develop SCADA system designs including AC/DC distribution, panel layout and wiring, communication block diagrams, protocol mapping, and other logical connection diagrams.
• Drafting and design of schematics and diagrams.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of industry experience within electrical utilities.
• 5+ years of experience in SCADA.
• Proficiency in substation engineering, Microstation, SCADA, electrical engineering, DMS, information technology, automation systems, telecommunication, HMI programming, and power distribution.
• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• P.Eng strongly preferred (not required for intermediate level if EIT).

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in Calgary, Alberta, in an office setting located in the Palliser 1st SE building. The building has great amenities, including a gym with Peloton subscription treadmills and bikes. It also provides access to other buildings downtown with game rooms, sports courts, and spa facilities. The team enjoys a casual and friendly atmosphere with events like Whiskey Fridays. This position involves 70% office work and 30% fieldwork, with travel primarily within Alberta (90%) and occasionally to Saskatchewan and Ontario (10%).
