Job description: Our Toronto based client is seeking a SAP Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS) Consultant to join their project from July 14th until September 12th 2025 with possibility of an extension. The ideal consultant will have minimum 10 years of experience in SAP PPDS environment with excellent client management, communication and workshop facilitation skills. This is a fully remote role.Key Responsibilities:
Configure and customize SAP PP (Production Planning) modules, including Master Data (BOM, Work Centers, Routings), MRP (Material Requirements Planning), Shop Floor Control, and Capacity Planning.
Implement SAP PP-DS (Detailed Scheduling) for advanced planning, scheduling, and optimization.
Set up heuristics, planning boards, and optimizer profiles for production scheduling.
Integrate PP/DS with other SAP modules (MM, SD, QM, WM, EWM, APO) and external systems (MES, ERP).
Analyze and improve production planning, scheduling, and material flow processes.
Troubleshoot issues in MRP runs, order creation, capacity leveling, and pegging.
Optimize finite/infinite scheduling, sequence-dependent setups, and constraint-based planning.
Support PP-PI (Process Industry) or Repetitive Manufacturing (REM) if applicable.
Ensure seamless integration between SAP ECC/S4HANA PP and APO/PP-DS.
Work on CDS views, Fiori apps, and S/4HANA migration (if applicable).
Manage master data governance for production planning objects.
Conduct end-user training and create training materials.
Prepare functional specifications, test scripts (UT, IT, UAT), and process documentation.
Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and management to align SAP PP/DS with business needs.
Participate in SAP S/4HANA transformations, upgrades, and new implementations.
Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement initiatives.
Adapt solutions for discrete manufacturing, process industries, or automotive sectors as needed.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, or MTO/MTS scenarios is a plus.
