Job description: Are you an SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant ready to make a tangible impact in a complex transformation environment? Our client is seeking a Senior SAP Functional Consultant for a 6-month hybrid contract in Toronto 📍 .This role focuses on the Record to Report (R2R) process, supporting the transition from the Build to Deploy phases of a large-scale S/4HANA implementation.
You will collaborate with Business Process Leads and the implementation vendor to support design validation, system configuration, testing, go-live, and hypercare support. If you bring deep SAP Finance and Controlling experience and are comfortable working in dynamic, public-sector-oriented projects.Advantages

• Provide SAP expertise to the Record to Report (R2R) team during Build and Deploy phases
• Analyze R2R processes, identify improvements using standard SAP S/4HANA functionalities
• Lead configuration of modules including FI, CO, PS, AA, FM, and AP
• Validate solutions with Business Process Leads and implementation vendor
• Support system testing, UAT, defect triage, and risk mitigation strategies
• Provide hypercare support during go-live: troubleshoot, resolve issues, escalate defects
• Collaborate cross-functionally to manage data integration with SAP and non-SAP systems
• Document configurations, test results, functional specs, and support materials
• Assist in change management, training inputs, and knowledge transfer activities
• Prepare options and decision-support documents for leadership teams
• Participate in governance, project planning, and communications
• Identify and document risks, gaps, and dependencies in project execution

Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP consulting experience on large public or private sector projects
• Deep hands-on expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance, Controlling, Project Systems, Asset Accounting, and Funds Management
• At least 2 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations, ideally with public sector exposure
• Strong configuration experience in FI/CO modules, with testing and deployment experience
• Proven track record in hypercare support and solution troubleshooting
• Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager (Change Request Management)
• Strong knowledge of test methodologies, process documentation, and training inputs
• Proficient in MS Excel, reporting, and performance tracking
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with cross-functional stakeholders

📘 Experience with Treasury, ARO, Grants Management, or Advanced Financial Closing
