Job description: Job Summary:This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust reporting and analytical solutions using SAP Business Warehouse (BW) to support data-driven decision-making within a municipal government. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams, gather business requirements, develop BEx queries, manage ETL processes, and provide training and support to city staff. A significant portion of the role involves managing and mentoring team members to ensure timely project delivery and adherence to data governance policies.Location:Hybrid in Burnaby, BCResponsibilities:– Collaborate with business representatives to gather BI-IP and BW reporting requirements.
– Develop BEx queries and maintain necessary BW Workbench objects (data elements, characteristics, domains, etc.).
– Work with the ETL team on scheduling, monitoring, and managing ETL processes.
– Coordinate with the Enterprise Reporting Systems (ERS) team to support Business Objects queries.
– Support financial planning and reporting related to the city’s budget cycles.
– Design and document data cube structures and master data models.
– Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics for BW, BI-IP, and ETL issues.
– Configure BW Process Chains and support integration/user acceptance testing.
– Conduct training workshops and knowledge transfer sessions for city staff.
– Manage and assign tasks to BW team members, ensuring timely delivery.
– Coordinate with SAP Basis, SAP Development, and other technical teams.
– Ensure system alignment with organizational goals and data governance policies.
– Provide status updates and project documentation per City PMO standards.
– Produce weekly status reports.
– Communicate assignment status to IT leadership and stakeholders.
– Provide weekly updates on deliverables and change impacts.
– Maintain documentation aligned with the City’s PMO methodology.
– Mentor and transfer knowledge to build internal capability.Required Skills & Certifications:– Minimum 8 years of experience with SAP BW in medium to large enterprises.
– At least 5 years in senior-level BW analysis and support roles.
– Strong knowledge of SAP-BW management, service delivery, and business intelligence.
– Proficiency in SAP BI/BW/BOBJ, Power BI, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
– Experience with SQL, relational databases, and Python.
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
