We really are a company that wants to make a positive difference.He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the roleThis role takes responsibility for the delivery and implementation of Watercare’s risk financing framework and ownership of delivering Watercare’s risk financing strategy, modelling and insurance programme. It has a strong focus on managing external relationships and supports representation of Watercare in the insurance market.The role plays a key function in being the main point of contact with our insurance broker, and leads any insurance claim process for Watercare.Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery and continuous enhancement of Watercare’s risk financing framework
  • Assist in determining risk exposure, appropriate risk and determining appropriate risk frameworks
  • Oversee insurance valuations and appropriateness of asset values for risk financing
  • Managing Insurance Broker activity including annual renewal, claims and procurement.
  • Collaborate with the asset managers, GIS team and finance to collate a reliable data set.

  • Extensive experience working in the corporate insurance/risk financing industry in an advisory/broker capacity, in either private or public organisations.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data on risk financing activities.
  • The ability to communicate complex concepts to a variety of stakeholders in a style that fits the audience.
  • Conversant with contract law, procurement procedures and insurance based legislation/regulation.
