Job description: Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Risk Analyst II to join their Counterparty Credit Risk team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the establishment and enhancement of credit analytics within the organization. The ideal candidate will play a key role in analyzing counterparty credit risk exposure, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This is an 8-month contract with a strong possibility of extension and conversion based on performance and approvals. The position follows a hybrid work model, requiring two days in-office at the Toronto location.Advantages

-Build a comprehensive understanding of derivative and financing businesses.
-Review daily counterparty credit risk exposures and investigate anomalies.
-Perform daily analysis of potential future exposure and capital measures.
-Provide ad-hoc support to Front Office and Credit Management for trading activities.
-Conduct risk reporting and data mining to support internal and external requests.
-Assess and monitor Counterparty Credit Wrong Way Risk in alignment with risk policies.
-Identify and highlight key risks in specific business lines and firm-wide.
-Provide ongoing commentary on stress test results and credit risk exposure.
-Collaborate with Trading, Technology, Finance, Model Development, and Credit Management teams.
-Act as a subject matter expert for Counterparty Credit Risk Systems.
-Maintain awareness of regulatory landscapes related to risk reporting and capital measures.
-Assist in implementing quantitative aspects of risk policies.
-Provide support to Technology Solutions for model implementation and continuous improvement.Qualifications
Required:
-Bachelor’s degree specializing in Finance, Risk Management, or another quantitative discipline.
-2+ years of prior experience in capital markets.
-Proficiency in MS Excel and strong quantitative analytical skills.
-Experience in producing analytical reports and handling large data sets.
-Strong ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Preferred:
-CFA or FRM candidates.
-Knowledge of Basel III, FINRA 4210, and emerging regulatory frameworks.
-Master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset.Summary
