Job description: Responsibilities:Training Program Development:
Collaborate with the management team to identify training needs and develop a comprehensive training strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Design and create training materials, including manuals, presentations, job aids, and e-learning modules, to support various training initiatives.
Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify skill gaps and areas for improvement among retail staff.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to incorporate into training programs.
Training Delivery and Facilitation:
Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for retail employees, both in-person and through virtual platforms, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and skill development.
Deliver a variety of training topics, including product knowledge, customer service, sales techniques, visual merchandising, and operational procedures.
Utilize a variety of training methods and techniques, such as role-playing, group exercises, and simulations, to enhance learning and engagement.
Monitor and evaluate training sessions, collect feedback, and make necessary adjustments to improve the effectiveness of training programs.
New Hire Onboarding:
Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding program for new retail employees, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
Conduct orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with company policies, procedures, and the retail environment.
Provide coaching and support to new hires, ensuring they receive the necessary training and resources to succeed in their positions.
Performance Improvement:
Identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement among retail employees through observation, data analysis, and performance evaluations.
Develop and deliver targeted training interventions to address performance gaps and enhance employee productivity and effectiveness.
Provide ongoing coaching and support to retail staff, offering guidance and resources to help them achieve their performance goals.
Training Program Evaluation and Reporting:
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of training programs.
Conduct evaluations and assessments to gather feedback on training programs, assess knowledge retention, and measure the application of skills on the job.
Generate reports and present findings to the management team, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Human Resources) or equivalent experience.
Proven experience as a Retail Training Manager or in a similar training role within the retail industry.
Strong knowledge of retail operations, including customer service, sales techniques, visual merchandising, and operational procedures.
Excellent training and facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and interactive training sessions.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
Proficient in using learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and other training technologies.
Analytical mindset, with the ability to assess training needs, measure training effectiveness, and provide data-driven recommendations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously.
Flexibility to travel to various retail locations as needed.
