Job description: Seeking a dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead our client’s premium, award-winning dining venue. Must excel in high-pressure service and leadership. We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead our client’s premium dining restaurant, recognized as a Metro Top 50 venue. With an award-winning celebrity Executive Chef at the helm, this restaurant delivers an exceptional high-end dining experience. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with deep food and wine knowledge, a strong understanding of New Zealand’s F&B scene, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 25-30 staff, including two assistant managers, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Ensure seamless restaurant operations, maintaining ambitious service standards.
  • Drive revenue through proactive decision-making and strategic planning to enhance spend per guest.
  • Oversee event and conferencing operations, ensuring flawless execution and premium guest experiences.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of food and beverage trends, ensuring the restaurant remains at the forefront of the industry.
  • Manage financial performance, including P&L responsibilities, cost control, and budgeting.
  • Develop and mentor staff, creating a motivated and high-performing team.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.

What We’re Looking For: – Must have New Zealand working rights.

  • Minimum of 2 years of hospitality management experience in a New Zealand premium dining environment.
  • A highly articulate communicator with exceptional leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure settings while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of food, wine, and beverage trends, particularly within New Zealand.
  • Understanding of sequence of service, rosters, POS software, and staff training.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and drive profitability.
  • A proactive and hands-on leader who can inspire and engage the team.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
