Job description: Project Description:This proposal is in the area of process control, with emphasis on the control of distillation processes. Distillation is a part of petroleum refining, water treatment, production of renewable fuels and handling environmentally harmful fluids. The outcome of this project can be easily extended to the broader area of process control, with wide use in energy and water sectors as well as in smart buildings and environmental engineering. The proposed research addresses incomplete digitalization of process control. In reality, almost all process control systems are implemented on digital systems; however, they are mostly designed with analogue (continuous) design methods. This mismatch in design and implementation techniques leads to relatively low performance and waster of energy and materials. By-design digital control systems are proposed to address this issue. The proposed control systems are shown to be particularly useful in process control, where time delay is commonly a part of the problem.RA duties and Responsibilities: * Understanding the proposed technology; this includes literature review and potential site visits.

• Identifying potential advantages/users of the proposed technology in Oman.
• Introduction of the proposed technology to its potential users in Oman.
• Establishing sustainable connections with potential users of the proposed technology in Oman.
• Collection of recorded data from real-world processes to be used in control system design and assessment.

Qualification:Bachelor Degree or Master Degree related to engineering field.Contract Period:3 Months might be extended.
