• Analyze the impact the regulatory changes in the regional CIB business and the potential extraterritorial impact on the whole group.
• Communicate them to the impacted areas.
• Support business areas in the adaptation process.
• Assist the business and support areas on the interpretation of the current regulation.
• Coordinate with the rest of the Regulation Desk, assist specialists in acquiring the Asian knowledge on the type of regulation they monitor.
• Maintain a close connection with Asian industry associations and, when necessary, with local regulators.

The type of regulation that must be monitored is very varied. It includes:

• Anti-money laundering and terrorist financing
• On capital markets; transactions rules on securities and derivatives, market integrity, post-trade requirements (e.g. reporting and transparency)
• Conduct rules; product governance, client protection
• Sustainable finance: reporting, governance and risk management, ESG characteristics on BBVA products, transitions plans.
• Digital: Resilience and innovation.
• Requirements on the branch; governance, fit & proper rules, remuneration rules, liquidity requirements
