Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleThe role of Regional Director is responsible for leading the delivery of Hauora Māori services in the regions. This role is focused on commissioning, delivery of patient facing services and monitoring of sector and service performance to improve Hauora Māori outcomes.About the Team/ServiceAs the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care. The devolution of resources and decision making to the regions ensures those closest to service users and whānau are involved in decisions on how healthcare is delivered. We are committed to ensuring our operating model is responsive to the needs of Māori.About youYou will be able to provide strategic direction and oversight to regional workforces, as well as providing direction for regional service improvement and planning for the delivery of services and whānau-centred models of care. You will have worked with public health teams on the implementation of initiatives and strategic decision-making plans.You will have:

  • A Minimum seven years’ experience at a senior level
  • Experience leading senior management and professional teams in a demanding environment
  • Significant experience in operational leadership roles within the health sector
  • Experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and performance management, with a focus on equity and social justice
