Job description: How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?The Inventory & Cost Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing accounting processes related to inventory and cost, ensuring financial data accuracy and compliance with internal and external regulations. This role acts as a technical leader for the team, ensuring timely and accurate financial closing, collaborating with key departments such as Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.Job Responsibilities:Responsible for meeting deliverables for the Fixed Asset team activities. Must have working knowledge of team processes, related controls and staff assignments.Work with the team in managing the daily operations (run work and project work). Key responsibilities include:reconciliation & JE processSAP maintenancecalculation of monthly depreciation and amortization;carryover balancesinternal and external audit requirements; personal property tax and other related requirements;serving as subject matter expert for fixed asset policies and procedures, including configuration and operation of SAP fixed asset systems.Ensure alignment with Air Liquide Blue Book Standards as well as IFRSPromote a business process excellence culture through working effectively with process/functional leaders to identify and develop business process improvement opportunities on an on-going basis.Establish process metrics and measures.Participate and/or lead initiatives in support of the Airgas finance strategic plan.Core focus on staff development through goal-setting, performance evaluations, feedback, and on-going performance coaching to ensure activities are performed within department and Company policy.Operational Management & Financial Closing
- Supervise the monthly closing process for inventory and cost accounting, ensuring deadlines are met and financial records are accurate.
- Ensure proper data integration between purchasing, inventory, and accounting modules within ERP systems.
- Review and validate account reconciliations for inventory and cost, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring the availability and reliability of required financial information.
Process Optimization & Financial Analysis
- Identify opportunities for improvement in inventory valuation, standard cost processes, and variance analysis.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the efficiency of inventory and cost accounting processes.
- Support digitalization and automation initiatives for reporting and accounting controls.
- Ensure the correct application of IFRS and internal policies in cost and inventory accounting.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, train, and develop the Inventory & Cost Accounting team, ensuring high performance standards.
- Define team objectives and priorities aligned with the company’s financial strategy.
Are you a MATCH?Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, including 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in shared services and/or multinational companies preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inventory and cost accounting principles (IFRS preferred).
- ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
