Job description: · Identified Role – Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants onlySupported by a governance structure that includes Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal stakeholders, as the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Specialist you will lead the coordination and delivery of our RAP commitments, ensuring First Nations perspectives are embedded across our organisation. You will work closely with internal teams, First Nations communities, and key stakeholders to drive meaningful reconciliation initiatives and foster strong relationships.What You’ll Do:

  • Strengthen relationships & engagement:
  • Develop strong connections with external stakeholders and facilitate engagement between the RAP Working Group, ESG Steering Group.
  • Act as an internal spokesperson for RAP initiatives, representing RAA in discussions with RAP organisations, government forums, and key stakeholders.
  • Support community education and events teams in delivering programs that support First Nations peoples.
  • Provide specialist advice & advocacy:
  • Advise internal stakeholders on First Nations affairs, including internal and external communications, issues management, and reputation management.
  • Ensure First Nations values, knowledge, and perspectives are embedded in RAA’s activities.
  • Collaborate with the People & Capability team to enhance cultural responsiveness and increase First Nations employment opportunities at RAA.
  • Build & maintain partnerships:
  • Establish strong, consultative relationships with Aboriginal Community Controlled organisations and community groups.
  • Work with the Community Partnerships and Events team to promote awareness and understanding of Australia’s First Nations peoples.
  • Facilitate two-way engagement to ensure First Nations stakeholders are informed and involved in RAA’s reconciliation efforts.
  • Mentor & support First Nations employees:
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to First Nations employees, particularly new or early-career staff.
  • Offer insights, support professional development, and help navigate challenges.

  • Strong relationship-building skills, with experience working collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • A deep understanding of issues impacting First Nations peoples.
  • The ability to provide strategic advice on cultural responsiveness and inclusion.
  • Strong organisational and leadership capabilities to manage RAP commitments effectively.
