What You’ll Do

• Review tax returns and K-1s from external tax preparer for accuracy and completeness
• Assist in compliance with 1031x structuring and REIT compliance
• Conduct in-depth research on real estate tax laws, regulations, and rulings to guarantee accurate tax filings
• Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement tax strategies related to 1031x and other tax structuring and processes
• Communicate effectively with clients to obtain necessary tax information and address tax-related inquiries promptly
• Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the tax compliance and 1031x structuring realm
• Stay abreast of changes in real estate tax laws and regulations, providing guidance to the team as needed

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2-4 years of proven experience in tax preparation or accounting, preferably in the real estate sector
• Thorough knowledge of federal and state real estate tax laws
• Proficient in the use of tax software and MS Office Suite
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• CPA certification or demonstrated progress towards achieving CPA status
• Familiarity with tax research tools specialized for real estate tax matters
• Experience in developing tax planning strategies tailored to real estate transactions
