Job title: Quantity Surveyor – Civil Infrastructure & Cost Estimation

Job description: Nexus Division is seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor (ANZSCO: 233213) to join our civil and infrastructure delivery team. This role supports the estimation, cost control, and contract administration functions for projects across public works, road infrastructure, minor irrigation systems, and building development initiatives. The successful candidate will possess sound technical skills in quantity measurement, cost estimation, and specification compliance, and contribute to planning and execution across pre-contract and post-contract phases.Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for civil, architectural, and road works.Review drawings and project documentation to conduct accurate quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns.Coordinate site markouts and provide engineering inputs to construction teams.Evaluate and monitor project costs, support contract administration, and validate technical approvals.Inspect site works for compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and safety regulations.Check reinforcement detailing (e.g., bar bending schedules) and monitor concrete activities for footings, columns, beams, and slabs.Provide guidance to technical assistants and site engineers to ensure works meet required quality standards.Liaise with procurement and construction teams to ensure materials and resources align with planned budgets.Maintain cost and technical documentation aligned with organizational requirements.Key Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent international qualification).Experience:
Minimum 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in infrastructure, roads, minor irrigation, and building projects, including estimating, planning, and quality supervision responsibilities.Technical Skills Required
Quantity surveying and estimation using tools such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD (2D & 3D)Construction documentation review and cost analysisProficiency with Revit, STAAD Pro, ETABS, and Civils 3DContract administration knowledge, particularly with FIDIC and NEC formsFamiliarity with MS Project for scheduling and cost monitoringKnowledge of technical approval processes and site inspection standardsAbility to interpret structural and architectural plans and assess complianceDesirable Skills
Experience working in government infrastructure or public development projectsStrong organizational and documentation skillsEffective verbal and written communication for coordination with stakeholdersCapability to support multiple construction phases under tight deadlinesExposure to environmental and geotechnical compliance factorsWhy Join Us
