Job description: We are seeking an experienced Quality and Risk Manager to join our team at Nurse Maude, based in Christchurch. This role is responsible for ensuring our continued provision of high-quality care in the community. You will be a quality and risk professional, effective team leader and provide invaluable expertise to the organisation.Te Mahi/About the PositionThis is a permanent full-time (1.0 FTE) position, based in Christchurch, working Monday – Friday.Key aspects of this role include:

  • Leading day-to-day operational activities of the Quality Team, focused on quality, continuous improvement, compliance, and risk management.
  • Reviewing, developing and implementing quality, and risk goals and objectives, whilst ensuring these align with organisational strategic goals.
  • Encouraging innovation, information sharing, and idea exchange with quality and service teams through leadership, sharing of expertise and learning.
  • Leading outcome focused evaluations of the Quality, and Risk systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Developing and leading internal and external auditing programmes, whilst identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions in collaboration with clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • Actively promoting and encouraging a culture of excellence in consumer safety, clinical practice, and clinical risk management.
  • Demonstrating awareness and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations through manaakitanga (respect) and kawa whakaruruhau (cultural safety).

He momo/About youTo be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current practicing certificate (in a relevant registered health background), with a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Quality management related qualification/experience.
  • Previous experience at a senior management level, minimum five years’ experience.
  • A successful track record involving the reduction of patient/consumer safety incidents and quality improvement outcomes.
  • Proven skills in leadership and mentoring.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand health sector, the legislation and the Government imperatives that govern care delivery.
  • Current knowledge of community health settings.
  • Understanding of a system wide approach in relation to quality and patient/consumer safety.
