Job description: Job Title: Testing Engineer (Performance, Automation, Functional)Location: Muscat, Oman (Onsite)Experience: 3-5 yearsAbout the Role:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Testing Engineer to join our team in Muscat, Oman. This role will focus on ensuring the quality and performance of our banking applications through comprehensive functional, automation, and performance testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing within the banking or financial services industry, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality testing services.Responsibilities:Functional Testing: Design and execute detailed test cases to validate the functionality of banking applications, ensuring they meet business requirements and user expectations.Automation Testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium and JUnit to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to evaluate the responsiveness, stability, and scalability of banking applications under various load conditions.Security Testing: Participate in security testing activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards like PCI-DSS and GDPR (if applicable).Bug Tracking and Reporting: Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking systems like Jira, ensuring timely resolution.Test Planning and Execution: Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications.Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance testing effectiveness.Collaboration: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the testing lifecycle.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.Required Skills and Experience:3-5 years of experience in software testing, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.Strong understanding of functional, performance, and security testing methodologies.Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium and JUnit.Proficiency in bug tracking systems like Jira.Excellent understanding of coding and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python) for automation purposes.Familiarity with banking regulations and standards like PCI-DSS and GDPR is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Technical Skills:Selenium, JUnit, or similar automation toolsJira or other bug tracking systemsJava, Python, or other scripting languagesPerformance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) (Desirable)SQL (Desirable)
