With sophisticated manufacturing facilities, retail stores, and professional trade representation throughout Australia and New Zealand, Stratco has supplied a comprehensive range of products to the building and construction industries, and home improvement and DIY markets for over 75 years.THE OPPORTUNITYAn exciting opportunity has become available for a Purchasing Officer to join our Supply Chain team based in our Ormeau head office. This position reports directly to the QLD Purchasing Manager.This is a full time, permanent position working Monday – Friday.RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing suppliers to ensure delivery of product is on time, quality of product meets standards and specifications, and product integrity is maintained through the delivery and storage processes.
• Timely and accurate review of product demand planning and stock levels to ensure purchase orders are placed within supplier lead times.
• Monitor inventory levels, analyse usage patterns, and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and pricing.
• Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for management review.
• Liaise with various departments to understand their purchasing needs, provide guidance on procurement processes, and ensure timely delivery of required goods and services.
• Involvement in continuous improvement projects and working with stakeholders at Stratco locations nationally.
• Collaborate with team members, other departments and projects as required.
• Strict adherence to our national critical safety rules & contributing to a safe working environment.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience in procurement and purchasing, including use of MRP / ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of Supplier performance management, supply chain management, and negotiation techniques.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good problem-solving mindset, with the ability to question process and recommend ways to improve processes.
• Desirable – tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain, Planning or other related discipline, would be advantageous
• Willingness to enhance the customer experience by working with enthusiasm, energy, and pace.
