Are you ready to take the next step in your purchasing career within a dynamic and fast-paced food wholesale environment? We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join a growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, values precision, and enjoys working cross-functionally to ensure a seamless supply chain operation.
Responsibilities

  • Monitor stock levels and generate accurate order suggestions in line with forecasted demand.
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders using Excel and internal systems.
  • Assist with coordination of international shipments, ensuring timely delivery and smooth customs clearance.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve day-to-day procurement and supply challenges.
  • Support new product onboarding by maintaining system data and completing setup documentation.
  • Set up and manage promotional pricing and special offers in both ERP and POS systems.
  • Produce regular reports for the Purchasing Manager, senior management, and suppliers.
  • Enter purchase orders into internal systems ahead of delivery deadlines.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm delivery timelines, resolve stock or delivery issues, and follow up on outstanding orders.
  • Investigate pricing discrepancies, process claims for damaged or missing goods, and maintain accurate records.

requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or accounts support role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with Asian cuisine/culture would be an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities.
  • Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
