Job description: We are looking for a Property Analyst for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.Role Description
The successful candidate will perform the Production Revenue Accounting, Regulatory Volumetric Reporting and Compliance for heavy oil facilities. The ideal candidate will help the support team to transition assets into current properties, while supporting the remaining new company properties.Responsibilities
- Full cycle of production accounting, including all aspects of production, revenue, and royalty reporting completed accurately and meeting all deadlines.
- Analysis of production, revenue, royalties, and reconciling items to the general ledger.
- Review new properties configuration and flow changes.
- Review and implement all changes impacting properties because of regulatory changes, measurement, allocations, and audits.
- Ability to review operating agreements and marketing contracts to ensure the accurate handling of allocations and equalizations.
- Actively participate, identify opportunities for improvement and provide support in desk reviews and property audits.
- Provide back-up coverage as required.
- Assisting operational teams with accounting and reporting.
- Help with annual EPAP testing for facilities.
- Review master file setup and changes are compliant with governing regulations (EVAP, EPAP, and SOX)
- Manage operated / non-operated oil & gas properties – Heavy Oil and Heavy Oil fuel gas Systems.
- Compile, balance, analyze field reports and maintain property files
- Maintain production accounting system and property specific master file data
- Input and process monthly volumetric data
- Confirm third party volumetric data (fluid receipts and dispositions)
- Provide ‘volumes available’ to working interest owners, third parties.
- Analyze processed data prior to publishing
- Analyze and calculate royalties – Crown, GOR and Freehold
- Prepare and publish oil and gas pipeline splits based on information provided working interest owners, third parties and client.
- Generate and submit provincial government regulatory reports
- Input revenue into production accounting system
- Pre-balance receivables (purchasers) for current month
- Monthly reconciliation of oil crown royalties and AR
- Respond to internal & external queries of a normal business nature
- Manage prior period adjustments / amendments
- Prepare and upload revenue and royalties to financial accounting system
Required Skills and Experience
- 8 + years experience performing full cycle Production and Revenue Accounting on several types of conventional heavy oil operated assets including gas facilities with gathering systems supplying fuel to other company facilities.
- CAPPA Certificate is preferred.
- A very solid experience with Alberta and Saskatchewan conventional heavy oil properties, fuel gas, proration facilities.
- Experienced in using Production Accounting System (Metrix), Petrinex, Field Data Capture System (PVR), ERP System (SAP), Land System (CS Land) and Spotfire reports.
- Solid knowledge of allocations, measurement, audit, and processes.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to communicate with Finance, Operations, Emissions and Engineering teams.
- Works well in a fast paced /changing environment that is deadline driven.
- Well organized and with proven multitasking & prioritization skills.
