We promise to be professional, approachable and solutions-focused when providing for our community.The Waimakariri District Council are looking for a new Project Planning & Quality Team Leader with the ability to work effectively across a wide range of issues and enable a customer-focused environment. The successful applicant will report to the Project Delivery Manager, and lead a team of three Technical Administrators, who work closely with the Development Team (subdivisions) but also the wider Utilities & Roading department and a number of other Teams throughout the Council.In this leadership role you will provide direction & coaching/mentoring to your team, provide technical support and guidance, led by example through the delivery of a customer-focused service, and deliver and oversee a wide range of your own complex projects which will require you to draw on previous Project Management and local government experience (desirable).To be successful in this position you will need to be adaptable with a solutions focused attitude. The role will require you to effectively lead the team while acting as Project Manager and providing Technical Administrative Support for a wide range of projects. Processes associated with administering Development Contributions are critical to this role.The successful candidate needs to be confident in learning how to assess development contributions under the Council’s Policy and be capable of undertaking the annual policy and schedule review. This requires a high degree of attention to detail, and although prior experience is advantageous everything can be taught to the right person.Applicants will be highly motivated team players who are well organised and committed to providing excellent service and quality results.
