As a Project Officer in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, you’ll play a crucial role in coordinating strategic research initiatives addressing profound global health challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in areas such prevention and health equity, curing chronic disease and transforming our healthcare system, collaborating with leading experts and diverse stakeholders. This role offers you the chance to develop valuable project management skills while contributing to transformative healthcare solutions.Your responsibilities will include:

• Support Strategic Research Initiatives: Assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering Faculty projects across various stages of the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate Events and Meetings: Organise workshops, prepare materials, and provide administrative support for academic leadership teams and committees.
• Develop Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain strong connections with internal and external partners, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
• Prepare Reports and Documentation: Draft written reports, create presentation slides, and assist in preparing project materials for senior leadership.

• Possess a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Have experience in project administration or executive assistance, preferably in a research, university, or healthcare setting.
• Demonstrate strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excel in written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact effectively across all organisational levels.
• Be proficient in standard application software, including Microsoft Office suite and video conferencing tools.
• Thrive in complex environments and adapt to changing priorities.

The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences is made up of 6 schools. It has an enviable research record and is the University of Melbourne’s largest faculty in terms of management of financial resources, employment of academic and professional staff, teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate (including research higher degree) students and the conduct of basic and applied research. The Faculty’s annual revenue is approximately $750m with approximately $400m income related to research activities.
